Epilogue: Happy New Year!
It’s January. I love that fresh new year feeling.
Yesterday I completed the MFAH 100, a project that occurred to me one morning last August—to write 100 words each about 100 objects in the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, in honor of the museum’s 100th birthday. The project was more successful and enjoyable than I could have imagined, and it opened up a whole new way of working for me. Thanks to everyone who cheered me on, commented, even liked a post during the process—it meant a lot, truly. I am planning to release the MFAH 100 as a book later this year. Will update that news as it firms up!
I’ll be announcing a new series of daily 100-word entries soon, and in the meantime, will be regularly posting slightly longer pieces (but not too long—we are impatient readers, speaking for myself at least). The first one will be everything I learned doing the MFAH 100 project.
If you're reading this on raineyknudson.com, I encourage you to subscribe on my Substack blog The Impatient Reader. It's free, and I'm slowly migrating my work over there.
Happy New Year, everyone. Thanks for reading.
